Member Bio
Ginger O'Connor is a past president of the Marietta Morning Rotary Club. She is a "mostly" native of Marietta, moving here from Wisconsin at the age of 7. She graduated from Marietta College with a degree in Public Address, English, and Drama. She then attended The Ohio State University where she received her Master of Arts degree in speech pathology.
She is employed by the Washington County Board of Developmental Disabilities as Director of Therapy Services and Coordinator of Early Intervention. She also carries a caseload of infants (ages 0 - 3) who are enrolled in speech therapy through the Early Intervention Program. In addition to her work for the WCBDD, she is a clinical instructor for Therapy Associates at Ohio University.
Ginger volunteers her time for two weeks per year as the speech language pathologist on the medical surgical team coordinated by Operation Smile International. She has been on five Operation Smile missions: to Russia, Kenya, the Philippines, and India. She also works with Operation Smile locally as a volunteer with the Speaker's Bureau and as an advisor to a youth "Smile Club" in Parkersburg, WV.
In addition to her international volunteer work, Ginger is active with the Boy Scouts of America (Den Leader), serves on various committees with her church, volunteers for the Marietta City Schools in various capacities, is a member of the Betsy Mills Club Women's Board, and is president of the Sigma Kappa Corporation Board at
Marietta
College
.
She likes to spend her free time with her husband, Michael and four children Todd, Trent, Tiffany, and Tanner. Together they enjoy theater, travel, hiking, camping, boating (on her favorite lake in Wisconsin), biking, and "not so friendly" games of Scrabble.
