Hilles is from Dayton, Ohio. She is married to chef Emad Al-Masri with whom she has two children: Jasmine and Adam.  Hilles has lived in a number of different places but hopes to stay in Marietta for a long time.  She loves detective fiction novels, yoga, and teaching aerobics. Hilles is fluent in French.

 

Her educational background centers around higher education. She has worked in personal counseling, career counseling, fundrasing, and program development.
